Mercati

Today should've been my housecleaning day, but my prediction on getting Ettore's cold came true. I'm beat. Therefore, a cat bath vs a shower, as the thought of getting wet sounded awful.

I did the ever-demanding laundry, then off to the Wednesday market for a suitcase. Joe hung out at home.

I found nearly everything I came to the market for. One vendor had a cheap €1 pair of silver hoops to replace the ones that got lost at the vigne. There were lots of kids' art project materials, but I got sick of trying to get the vendor's attention, as he was deep into conversation with the vendor next to him. Hit the Chinese store later; I made a mental note. Then, as I was admiring purses, I saw a suitcase the next stall over that could work for sending home my things. I wasn't going to pay more than €30 for it. The vendor said €45, and I politely thanked him and turned away. He stopped me, saying he'd take out the suitcase inside the suitcase, and sell it to me for just under €30. Perfect. And look, he demonstrated; the 360⁰ wheels detach for storage. I wish they had that for carry-on sizes! Maybe the little one he took out did. I could check next week, but I bet it'll be marked €25!

I thought these were nuns up ahead.
At the market I saw their
headdress was a hijab. Ironically, the same purpose for wearing each.

Starting point of the market is near
Tamoil gas station

I wanted to stop for coffee at Scandura, but not with a suitcase. Now to go home.

I put away my things, and Joe walked with me toward the Chinese store and Lidl. He had a few stops to make beforehand, and said he'd meet up with me at Lidl.

Stupidly, I had left my debit card at home in the US, thinking back then, if it gets lost, there's more danger losing a debit card than losing a credit card. But getting a little extra cash was going to be a problem! Luckily, I have both Joe and Venmo. He got some for himself, and the amount I needed, which I can Venmo him for.

Money, money, money

We split up as I walked to do my errands and he walked to his. Good eventual success on finding art materials for Ettore, and a stop at Lidl ensured ingredients for a minestra I'm making tonight. Joe never found me at Lidl (not sure why not; the place was empty!). The walk home seemed extra long, with me feeling under the weather, and carrying heavy bags. Speaking of weather, it's another day in which the layers peeled off. Warm and sunny!

Good ol' Lidl! Their deals aisle had something I've had on my list, a mestolo, for €0.99 instead of the €8.00 I've been seeing!

Now I'll go make my brodo, after taking a long repose while writing this. I'm guessing it will be an unremarkable remainder of the day, but you never know around here! I'll update if that's not the case.
